Quick Bio:

Originally from upstate (central) New York, I graduated from Munson Williams Proctor Institute and Mohawk Valley Community College with an Associates Degree in Fine Arts.

Continuing my studies, I moved to Philadelphia to attend Moore College of Art & Design, graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts and Art Education.

In early 2000's I moved to North Carolina after accepting a position as a middle school Art Teacher at E. Lawson Brown Middle School.  After four years at Brown, I changed schools to work at Northwest Guilford Middle School.

While at NWMS, I was honored to serve as their Teacher of the Year and PTSA Teacher of the Year, excited to become Nationally Board Certified in Middle Ages Through Young Adult, and able to expand my content knowledge as I entered the Master's of Art Education program at UNC-Pembroke.

Over the years, I have served as yearbook advisor, Odyssey of the Mind coach and coordinator, offered numerous art clubs, written & received various grants, & held a range of positions on school committees & initiative implementations.

In the spring of 2014, I was elated to accept the Art Teacher position here at SDHS.  In the 2014-15 school year, the SDHS art department expanded to make two Honors level classes available to students, and began a National Art Honor Society chapter. In fall 2015, the Art program expanded to offer advanced Placement Studio Art: Drawing and 2-D Design to qualified students.

It is my goal to continue developing an arts-minded climate in the school and local community.
I can't wait to see all of the great things that the collective "we" can accomplish at SDHS!!!
